Not only the adults are now involved in the ever booming beauty pageants anymore as kids have now been drawn into the industry. Only few days ago, a Nigerian emerged the winner of a Islamic beauty contest.

The likes of Oluchi Onweagba, who was crowned the ‘Face of Africa’ in 1998; Agbani Darego, who won the Miss World in 2001; gave young Nigerian girls hope that they can make it if they were able to make it against many odds.

We cannot quickly forget Miss Gbemi Shotade who emerged Miss Tourism, United Nations in 2012 in Jamaica. Nigerians are becoming a force to reckon with in the beauty contest industry.

For nine years old Daniella Okoye, she may not have thought that she would become the Little Princess of the Universe winner. She went to Turkey and beat other children to win the crown.

With her sterling performances, she wowed the audience with her African dance steps as she danced to the Eteghi dance step while moving her body to Iyanya’s ‘Kukere’ song. This thrilled the audience and the judges were left with no option than to announce her winner of the pageant.

She had gone to Bodrum in Turkey with the founder of Charming Kids International, Mrs Frances Oho to contest for the international competition. Danniella was the winner of the 2011 edition of Little Charming Princess In Nigeria.

Just recently, she visited some less-privileged in Surulere, Lagos. Little Daniella showered them with love and gifts as part of her pet project. According to her, “it’s better to give than to receive, I love giving to the people that don’t have enough.”
