It seems University students will be heading to school soon, that is if the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) agrees with what the Federal Government is offering. As the leader of ASUU made a statement yesterday, to take the decisions to the members of the association and if agreed on the strike will be suspended.

According to Punch Newspaper a key component of the agreement reached by the parties was the Federal Government would give N 1.1 Trillion to public universities in the next five (5) years. The government will release N 220 Billion yearly into the sector beginning from 2014.

The National Universities Commission and the Trade Union Congress will be joint guarantors of the agreement while the Minister of Education will be the implementation officer.
