The name was announced at the annual dealer convention in Los Angeles.
'Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date,' said Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, Chief Executive Officer at Rolls Royce.
'Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds – an awakening, an opening up of one's senses and a burst of sunshine.

'It will be the most social of super-luxury motor cars for those beautiful people who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world's social hotspots,' he said.

'Rolls-Royce Dawn is the next step in the renaissance of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars which began in 2003 with the launch of Phantom and subsequent introductions of Ghost and Wraith,' said the company in a statement.
'It justifies the continuing investment of the BMW Group into the world’s pinnacle super-luxury brand.'

Dawn will likely feature sleek modern design, but the promotional pictures featuring the Silver Dawn model suggest there will be a nod to classic designs of the past.
The new model will go on sale early next year, Autocar reported, and the mechanical make up of the car is expected to be almost identical to the Wraith model.
Dawn is expected to have a price tag approaching £250,000.
